Are police officers allowed to lie to you? Yes the Supreme Court has ruled that police officers can lie to the American people. Police officers are trained at lying, twisting words and being manipulative. Police officers and other law enforcement agents are very skilled at getting information from people. So don’t try to “out smart” a police officer and don’t try being a “smooth talker” because you will lose! If you can keep your mouth shut, you just might come out ahead more than you expected. Indianapolis officer arrested on domestic violence charges

An Indianapolis Metro Police officer faces a slew of charges, including eight felonies, in a domestic battery case.

Police arrested 10-year department veteran Daniel Bullman on Wednesday.
Court documents detail a disturbing pattern of alleged violence and rage for years against his estranged wife and in front of their children. From 2013 through this year, court papers describe numerous incidents of Bullman punching his wife, dragging her, and hitting her in the face.

She said a separation and counseling seemed to lessen the violence, but then it would start up again. At times, she told police Bullman yelled at her to "fight back." Other times, she says he made her kneel on the ground and ordered her to "bark like a dog."

Once, she told investigators she was injured so badly that she left the house barefoot and bloody and walked to the nearby Speedway Police Department.
She said Bullman drove after her and told her in the parking lot, "I'm the police.

What do you think they're gonna do? They're not gonna do anything."

In another incident, Bullman's wife told police he put a gun to her head and said, "you know you make me do this, right?"

Police say the 33-year-old officer also threatened his daughter. His wife described it this way: "He walked into a child's bedroom, put a gun to the daughter's head and stated words to the effect of, 'You know, I could end her right now.'"

In 2015, Bullman told his wife he'd become involved with a woman in the IMPD Explorer program and his wife told a friend the woman might be pregnant. Court papers say that the woman conveniently committed suicide in November.

Just this month, court documents say Bullman's violence took on a new target: his fellow officers.

After his wife was granted a protective order and Bullman was suspended pending termination from the force, documents show he sent her a text message that read, "Right now I'm only interested in going to (redacted officers' names) and putting a bullet in their head. I'm furious. This department failed. This city needs more dead cops."

Wednesday night, Bullman was jailed on $100,000 bond. He's also suspended without pay from the Indianapolis Metro Police Department.

IMPD Domestic Violence Unit detectives began looking into the case in early May. The incidents in question took place over the past two years between Bullman and his estranged wife, either at or near their Indianapolis home, with the exception of one incident which occurred in Washington, DC.

Detectives submitted their findings to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of criminal charges. Bullman was charged Wednesday with eight felonies and five misdemeanors:

Neglect of a Dependent, Class D Felony
Battery, Class B Misdemeanor
Battery resulting in Bodily Injury, Class D Felony
Domestic Battery, Class A Misdemeanor
Domestic Battery, Class A Misdemeanor
Criminal Confinement, Class B Felony
Intimidation, Class C Felony
Pointing a Firearm, Class D Felony
Criminal Confinement, Level 6 Felony
Domestic Battery, Class A Misdemeanor
Kidnapping, Level 5 Felony
Battery in the Presence of a Child, Level 6 Felony
Domestic Battery, Class A Misdemeanor

Bullman has been employed with IMPD since April 2006. He was most recently assigned to East District Detectives. On May 11, Chief Troy Riggs suspended Bullman without pay, with a recommendation for termination to be considered by the IMPD Merit Board.
