Trump blast Obama on Twitter in wake of Dallas shootings

By Christopher R Rice

Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump said Friday he's standing by a Twitter post he sent after the fatal shooting of police officers in Dallas in which he said "President Barack Obama should be held responsible."

And "He won’t blame radical Islam for Dallas, but he’ll blame racism for police shootings."

He posted the tweet Thursday night after five police officers were killed and seven wounded in an ambush-style attack during a protest of fatal shootings of black men by police in Minnesota and Louisiana.

Trump also stated, "This is now war" and "Watch out black lives matter punks."

Trump was continuing to post on Twitter, repeating his belief that there is a war on police, that Obama and groups such as Black Lives Matter have caused it and that it's time to "fight back."

Obama said all Americans should be troubled by the videotaped police shootings of African-American men in Louisiana and Minnesota this week.

The Donald Tweeted back: “Our great African American President hasn’t exactly had a positive impact on the thugs who are so happily and openly destroying Dallas!”

Then Trump tweeted this warning: “With Hillary and Obama, the terrorist attacks will only get worse. Politically correct fools, won’t even call it what it is - RADICAL ISLAM!”

Obama quickly Tweeted back "What exactly using this label would accomplish and what will it change?"

There is no question the Obama administration's greatest failure is allowing the Islamic terror group ISIS to run wild, murdering thousands of innocent people all over the world.

Trumps solution:  “We must suspend immigration from regions linked with terrorism until a proven vetting method is in place.”

Obama peppered his comments with references to Trump, without using his name. The presumptive nominee has hammered Obama frequently for his refusal to use the "radical Islam" term.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, speaking to supporters in Philadelphia, said Trump's tweets bolstered her case that Trump is temperamentally unfit to serve as president.

She noted that Trump seemed to suggest that Obama might have somehow been responsible for the deadliest police killings in modern U.S. history, a point that Trump said he did not make.

"I have to ask: Will responsible Republican leaders stand up to their presumptive nominee or will they stand by his accusation about our president?" she said.

"And so, to all law enforcement, I want to be very clear: On the very day that Ms. Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election," Trump said.

Trumps Virginia state chairman took to social media and explicitly blamed Hillary Clinton.

Corey Stewart, who is also reported to be planning a run for governor in Virginia in 2017, posted on Facebook as news of the shooting was breaking.
“Liberal politicians who label police as racists—specifically Hillary Clinton and Virginia Lt. Governor Ralph Northam—are to blame for essentially encouraging the murder of these police officers tonight,” Mr. Stewart wrote.
