Are police officers allowed to lie to you? Yes the Supreme Court has ruled that police officers can lie to the American people. Police officers are trained at lying, twisting words and being manipulative. Police officers and other law enforcement agents are very skilled at getting information from people. So don’t try to “out smart” a police officer and don’t try being a “smooth talker” because you will lose! If you can keep your mouth shut, you just might come out ahead more than you expected. Moss Point Officer Arrested On Meth Charge

By Wendy Peyregne

As a result of a joint investigation between the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County and the Moss Point Police Department, Wendy Mason Peyregne, 25, a Moss Point Police Officer since 2004, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Peyrene was on duty with the Moss Point Police Department at the time of her arrest.

John G. Raucci, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Mississippi, says the arrest followed a joint investigation by the F-B-I's Safe Streets Task Force, the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County and Moss Point Police.

Agents seized about six (6) grams of methamphetamine from Peyrene during the arrest.

Peyregne will have an initial appearance scheduled before Senior U-S-
Magistrate Judge John M. Roper in Gulfport on December 8 at 10:00am.

If convicted, Peyrene could receive a sentence of five years to 40 years in federal prison and a one (m) million dollar fine.

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is a member of the Gulf Coast HIDTA initiative and receives significant funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy in Washington D.C.

It's made up of Special Agents from the FBI and law enforcement officers from the Pascagoula, Moss Point, Gautier and Ocean Springs Police Departments, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.

Mr. Raucci stresses that the charges against Peyregne are accusations only, and there is a presumption of innocence prior to any judicial proceedings.
