Ripley Police Officer Arrested with Meth and Crack

By Christopher R Rice Underground Newz

Nine months ago, the Drug Task Force began an undercover drug operation called “Operation 100.” They tried to come up with a better name but the only other name they came up with, was "Operation where's my doughnut?"

The operation focused on the sale, delivery and distribution of illegal controlled substances such as cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription drugs. Since druggies are a lot easier than real criminals. Arrest a druggie and they will rat off the whole block before they will go through withdraws.

During the operation, 69 controlled purchases of illegal narcotics were made from 39 individuals. Undercover agents were offering top dollar on any drug they could get their hands on but still were only able to make 69 purchases in nine months, amazing.

On Oct. 3, 39 indictments were prepared for those individuals and presented to the Lauderdale Grand Jury for consideration. There were 75 indicted cases during this term.

Offenders who conducted felony drug transactions within 1,000 feet of any school, daycare or park were facing an additional charge for violation of the Drug Free School Zone Act. Bend over, justice might be blind but she will still stick her red, white and blue strap-on right up your behind.

Stephen Kirkpatrick, a Ripley Police Officer, was also developed as suspect, during the undercover operation. As prosecutors looked into the case of defendant James Finch, evidence indicated that Kirkpatrick committed various violations during the course of his employment as a public servant.
“These cases demonstrate the tireless efforts and commitment of the 25th Judicial District Drug Task Force to use all available investigative and prosecutorial resources to target those people who are selling and distributing dangerous illegal substances in our communities. We look forward to presenting these cases to the Court in order to hold these felony drug offenders accountable and to achieve justice for the citizens of Lauderdale County who are all plagued by the devastating effects of illegal drugs in their community.”, said District Attorney General Mike Dunavant.
