Police officers are trained at lying, twisting words and being manipulative. Police officers and other law enforcement agents are very skilled at getting information from people. So don’t try to “out smart” a police officer and don’t try being a “smooth talker” because you will lose! If you can keep your mouth shut, you just might come out ahead more than you expected.

Warrants: 68-year-old man had about 4 pounds of marijuana


ASHEVILLE - Deputies arrested a 68-year-old man after they say he had nearly 4 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia Wednesday.

Harvey Eugene Fuller, of Riceville Road, faces one felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, one felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and a misdemeanor of possession of marijuana paraphernalia, according to arrest warrants.

Authorities say Fuller had glass pipes, scales, grinders and plastic bags. He also had 3.95 pounds of marijuana.

Bond was set at $50,000 unsecured. He was scheduled to appear in Buncombe County District Court on Thursday.

In an unrelated drug arrest, Asheville Police Officers arrested a man on South French Broad Avenue Wednesday night after he ran away from authorities when they attempted to arrest him.

Javary Lemar Porter, 21, ran across South French Broad Avenue in an unsafe manor and cut through bushes in someone's backyard in attempts to get away from officers who had been investigating a drug deal, warrants state.

Porter had two white rocks of crack cocaine, according to arrest warrants. He was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor of second-degree trespassing, impeding traffic and resisting a public officer, according to a police report.

Bond was set at $15,000 secured. Porter was scheduled to appear in Buncombe County District court Thursday.
