Are police officers allowed to lie to you? Yes the Supreme Court has ruled that police officers can lie to the American people. Police officers are trained at lying, twisting words and being manipulative. Police officers and other law enforcement agents are very skilled at getting information from people. So don’t try to “out smart” a police officer and don’t try being a “smooth talker” because you will lose! If you can keep your mouth shut, you just might come out ahead more than you expected. Middletown, Ohio, a city under siege: ‘Everyone I know is on heroin’

By Yahoo News

The opioid epidemic is a national crisis. But what does that mean? To answer that, Yahoo News traveled to Middletown, Ohio — a city once considered as ordinary as its name, more recently known for an explosion in opioid use — and explored quantitative research about drugs, health care, and national public opinion. This is a problem so serious that it requires big data, so human that it needs a face. Here is what we found:

For 16 of his 36 years, Jack Barrett has been a heroin addict. Today, he sits casually in a white plastic chair at Groups, the treatment center that he credits with saving his life. That was after he finally sought help for the first time — after overdosing, and being revived with Narcan, eight times in seven days. He says that the problem was fentanyl, a synthetic opioid some 40 times more potent than heroin: “It’s not just heroin anymore.” How did he start using? “How does anyone start? I don’t know.” It’s his first time getting help that sticks in his memory.

Groups lies off Main Street and Central Avenue in Middletown, Ohio — a city of 49,000 that the Butler County prosecutor calls the “buckle of Middle America,” the Butler County sheriff calls “the Heartland” and many people here seem to call “home, unfortunately.” Far from making him stand out, in Middletown Jack’s addiction signifies his belonging. “If you’re young here,” he explains, “people just assume you’re on heroin.”

Between 1999 and 2014, American overdose deaths involving opioids nearly quadrupled to 28,647 — much of the increase driven by synthetic opioids such as fentanyl. In 2015, the toll exceeded
33,000. In few places is the magnitude and the pervasiveness of the crisis more apparent than in Middletown, Ohio. Yet the epidemic here is not unique: Ohio’s opioid deaths per capita are the third, not the first, highest in the country, after West Virginia and New Hampshire; Butler County’s the third highest in the state. In 1957, the National Civic League named Middletown an “all-American city.” Today, Middletown is the microcosm of an American epidemic that threatens to make addiction, crime and poverty a national norm. The city offers a lesson in the speed and power with which addiction can sabotage a community. And while we can glean possible answers in Middletown, we also see the high odds against success.

“Everyone I know is on heroin,” says a hunched, fidgeting mother of three, running her hand through dry hair that was once blond. She is waiting for the free breakfast offered by a local church. She goes to a methadone clinic three times a week. Her next-door neighbors have lost two kids to overdoses since May.

“It’s not an epidemic. It’s a pandemic,” warns a recovering addict one table over, his eyes wide.

According to local lore, Middletown derives its name from its position halfway between Dayton and Cincinnati. That geography now intensifies the opioid epidemic: As Gene Robinson, clean for most of the past 18 months, puts it, “Middletown is stuck in between two major cities. Dayton is the drug capital of Ohio. It’s easy access. And there’s not a lot of work in town.”

In her living room half a mile from downtown Middletown, Robinson’s fiancée, Terri Fugate, gets straight to the point: “This here is a town full of addicts.” She talks about prostitutes patrolling the streets; a young girl left for dead in a boarded-up house down the street; a man who overdosed while driving a gas truck. Her son Larry started using heroin when he was 19, at his older sister’s house. He had just broken up with his girlfriend. His sister asked if he wanted to sit around moping all day or get high. She shot him up herself.

Five months ago, Terri found her son overdosed and blue in his room. She administered CPR. “I had to literally bring my baby back. It was the most scariest thing in the world.” Larry was convicted shortly after that for forging a check. (“It had worked a couple times before,” he says. “I knew I would get in trouble for it eventually.”) He got out two days early because he opted to go on the Vivitrol shot — a monthly injection that blocks opioid receptors in the brain. The two days didn’t really matter to him: “I just wanted the Vivitrol.” Larry explains that a week before going to jail, he decided he was done “chasing it. I woke up one morning and was like, I’m not buying dope today.”

He says heroin was just too much money. His mother says he had hit his rock bottom.

Gene, Terri’s square-jawed, handsome fiancé, sits on the couch in a neat yellow polo. Gene turned to heroin in 2009 after finding his then-wife dead of a painkiller overdose. He tried to go on Vivitrol once, but it didn’t work. You have to be clean for a week before starting, and that was too much: “It’s good for people who haven’t been on drugs for that long. But I can’t do that.” Now, Terri makes sure that he takes his Suboxone — a prescription medication that relieves opiate withdrawal symptoms.

He’s been on and off it for a year and a half. He’s an electrician, but with his record he has to stick to side jobs. The calendar in the kitchen room comes from Access Counseling Services: Terri’s birthday and the dog wash punctuate doctor’s appointments and treatment sessions.

Terri is proud of her boys, Larry and Gene. Larry writes music — a cross between spoken word and rap. He promises, in his latest lyrics, to repay his mother’s efforts. “I picked up the mic,” he sings, “and put the drugs down.”

“I bawled,” Terri says. She has cervical and lung cancer. “It’s crazy. Saying that while I smoke. I guess everyone has their s***.” Terri is a recovering alcoholic. Her sister is in treatment for a heroin addiction. The sister’s boyfriend talks about kicking his coke habit, and about his brother who’s on meth.

The laundry room overflows with stacks of clothes that Terri pulled out the day before for the homeless shelter down the street. They almost obscure the glass bureau filled with neat hardcovers: Catherine Coulter, Mary Higgins Clark, Nelson DeMille. Terri has read most of them but wants to get back to reading. Living Clean: The Journey Continues sits on the living room table. The smell of stale smoke lingers everywhere, clinging to the doilies and embroidered pillows. It defines this house in the same way that addiction defines this loving family — and, with them, Middletown.

Jack tells everyone he knows to go to Groups. “This place is a lifesaver.” He plasters fliers around his neighborhood. He took his brother here for one session, but it didn’t stick. “He wasn’t ready. You need to want help,” explains Jack. He continues to live with his brother, who still uses.

Brother of Sinaloa drug cartel leader arrested at Mexico-Arizona border

By the Los Angeles Times

The brother of a leader of the powerful Sinaloa cartel was indicted on drug smuggling charges Friday, a day after he was arrested at the border in Nogales, Ariz., the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego said.

A grand jury indictment filed in San Diego federal court charges Alvaro Lopez Nuñez, 38, and five close associates with doling out drugs to smugglers and smuggling the narcotics into the U.S. themselves from May 2005 to August 2016.

Drug Enforcement Administration agents arrested Lopez Nuñez at a port of entry in Nogales on Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. He was indicted in a federal court in Tucson on Friday and is expected to be extradited to San Diego to face the charges.

His arrest comes on the heels of the July 27 arrest of his nephew, Damaso Lopez Serrano, also known as “Mini Lic” and said to be the godson of Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. Lopez Serrano, 29, turned himself in to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the border in Calexico and faces the same drug smuggling charges as his uncle.

An associate, Nahum Abraham Sicairos Montalvo, 29, is also charged in the federal indictment filed in August of last year. He was arrested by Mexican authorities on July 31, according to Mexican news reports.

Three other defendants are considered fugitives, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

In May, Lopez Nuñez’s brother, Damaso Lopez Nuñez, was arrested by Mexican authorities at a high-rise in Mexico City.

Damaso Lopez Nuñez and his son, Damaso Lopez Serrano, both face drug smuggling charges in a separate case out of Virginia.

The father, known as “El Licenciado,” or the Graduate, was reputed to one of Guzman’s top leaders in the Sinaloa cartel. He is expected to be extradited the U.S. to face the charges in Virginia.

German Police Seize Donald Trump Shaped Drugs Worth $46,000

By Newsweek

German police may just have found the weirdest Donald Trump–related merchandise to date. Though it features the recognizable orange glow of the 45th president, it seems unlikely that Trump would find them as tremendous as most things that bear his name.  The item branded with the Trump name and face? A humongous drug stash seized by German authorities on Saturday. Five thousand ecstasy pills, to be exact.  The selling point of the illegal drug, listed on the high-risk end of the U.N.'s classification of addictive substances, is an unusual one: Every pill is shaped like Trump's head, complete with significant overcomb and pouty face stamped on the front, and his name emblazoned on the back in all caps.

Ecstasy is widely sold illegally across Europe and often taken by young partygoers for the feeling of euphoria it can provide. Police in Osnabrück, Germany, found thousands of the pills in the back of a van while completing a road check Saturday night.

The vehicle was a van registered in Austria and driven by a 51-year-old man. He had his 17-year-old son with him and had traveled from the Netherlands, according to German magazine Der Spiegel.

They were traveling toward the city of Hanover, in Lower Saxony. Police have arrested both men, who claimed to have been trying to buy a vehicle in the Netherlands, according to local media. Police suspect the presidential pills originated in the Netherlands.

Illegal drugs shaped like the leader of the free world turned up in the U.K. earlier this year. The very similar-looking drugs came from Amsterdam and had high levels of MDMA, according to British media reports. The pills also have popped up on the dark web, where they are being sold under the Trump-like slogan "Trump makes partying great again."

The total street value of the stash seized in Germany is estimated at €39,000 ($46,000). It would have cost €11,000 ($13,000) to purchase the tablets to sell, so they would've made a yuuuuuge profit.

Fiona Apple sends support to Sinead O’Connor: ‘You’re my hero’

By

Fiona Apple uploaded a heartfelt video message supporting Sinead O’Connor to her YouTube channel Thursday.

Apple, 39, recorded the clip in response to a video O’Connor posted on her Facebook last week. In the 12-minute video, O’Connor, 50, tearfully explained she was living in a Travelodge motel in New Jersey. She spoke about her struggle with mental illness and thoughts of suicide.

“My entire life is revolving around not dying, and that’s not living,” O’Connor said.

The Irish singer-songwriter, who Rolling Stone reported was briefly “missing suicidal” in 2016 , said her psychiatrist was “the only thing keeping me alive.”

“I just saw the video of you, and I don’t want you to feel like that,” Apple said in her video response.

“You’ve given so much, and I wish I could be there. I wish I could be of some use to you. I’m your friend, that’s all I want to say, and you’re my hero.”

Apple also posted to her channel a video of O’Connor’s performance at the 1989 Grammy Awards.
A note posted to O’Connor’s Facebook page four days later assured fans she is “she is safe, and she is not suicidal.”

On Thursday O’Connor posted a detailed explanation of her improving condition. She then blasted her former manager , who she recently fired.   O’Connor’s new manager, Anna M. Sala, issued the following statement:

Sinead is a brave and courageous woman. She says her truth without fear or shame. And just as she fought against child abuse in the church, she will fight with the same strength against the stigma of mental illness, even while putting her own neck on the line.

She is like no one else. Her courage is endless. Despite her own heartbreak, she is always concerned about the suffering of others and how she can use her voice to help them.

She is receiving the best medical care. She is lovingly supported by a musician advocacy organization with a team of people who are working with her on the road to healing. She is improving day by day.
Sinead herself said: “If not for Jazz Foundation I wouldn’t have made it. I would not be alive today if not for the unconditional love & kindness of these people.

We are asking people to send their prayers and loving support. At this time, we are all focused on her health and wellness. But without a doubt, her fighting spirit is intact.

Report: Zach Randolph arrested, charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell

By NBCSports

Ben McLemore, who went from the Kings to the Grizzlies, broke his foot. And Zach Randolph – who went the other way on a two-year, $24 million contract – got arrested.
TMZ:
LAPD officers were called to the Nickerson Gardens area in L.A. around 10 PM — and when they arrived, cops found a large crowd of people smoking, playing loud music and blocking the roadway.
Three people were detained — including Randolph, who was eventually arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell. We’re told the “intent to sell” part was due to the large amount of weed found.
After the arrests, we’re told things got crazy — the crowd became unruly and LAPD had to call for backup.
We’re told 6 cop cars were vandalized — tires slashed and windows busted — and cops formed a battle line to restore order.
In the end, cops recovered 2 guns, drugs, a significant amount of cash and 2 vehicles were impounded — though it’s unclear if any of those things belonged to Randolph.
The Kings said they are aware of the situation but would not comment at this time.

It is fairly common for people arrested with large amounts of marijuana to have the charge of intent to sell put on them, but that charge is often dropped by prosecutors as it is tougher to prove.

Possession and use of recreational marijuana is legal in California.

Back in 2010, Randolph was implicated as a marijuana kingpin in Indianapolis. Though he never faced charges, this latest incident renews questions. He was also accused in 2011 of orchestrating a beating and robbery of a marijuana dealer Randolph had invited to his house. He wasn’t charged for that, either.

The NBA fines players $25,000 for a second marijuana conviction/positive test, then players are suspended five games for a third violation. For a first violation, a player is sent to an education, treatment and counseling program, although if there is an arrest and conviction of sales the league likely would add some response.

EDITORS NOTE: Replace "marijuana" in the article with "vodka" and see how ridiculous this sounds.

Trump vows to 'win' against opioid epidemic, offers no new steps

By Reuters

President Donald Trump promised to win the fight against a U.S. epidemic of opioid drug use, but offered no new steps to do so and did not act on a recommendation made by a presidential commission that he declare a national emergency.

Trump spoke at an event he had billed as a "major briefing" on the opioid crisis during a two-week "working vacation" at his private golf club in New Jersey. He also used the appearance to unexpectedly issue a stern warning to North Korea over its threats to the United States.

The Republican president said the United States has no alternative but to stem spreading opioid use, but more than six months into his presidency announced no new policies to combat a public health crisis that kills more than 100 Americans daily.

"I'm confidant that by working with our healthcare and law enforcement experts we will fight this deadly epidemic and the United States will win," Trump told reporters. "We're also very, very tough on the southern border where much of this comes in, and we're talking to China, where certain forms of man-made drug comes in, and it is bad."

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price said the administration was still working to devise "a comprehensive strategy" to be presented to Trump "in the near future."

A commission created by Trump to study opioid abuse urged him last week to declare a national emergency to address what it called an opioids crisis, framing its death toll in the context of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States. An emergency declaration could free up federal resources for the effort.

"The resources that we need or the focus that we need to bring to bear to the opioid crisis at this point can be addressed without the declaration of an emergency, although all things are on the table for the president," Price told a later news briefing.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, opioids were involved in more than 33,000 U.S. deaths in 2015, the latest year for which data is available, and estimates show the death rate has continued rising.

The commission, headed by Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, recommended steps such as waiving a federal rule that restricts the number of people who can get residential addiction treatment under the Medicaid healthcare program for the poor and disabled.

The commission cited government data showing that since 1999 U.S. opioid overdoses have quadrupled, adding that nearly two thirds of U.S. drug overdoses were linked to opioids such as heroin and the powerful painkillers Percocet, OxyContin and fentanyl.

Speaking alongside Price, White House senior counselor Kellyanne Conway said, "We are a nation that consumes legal and illegal drugs at a very high and alarming rate. The problem is very complicated, and currently we are on the losing side of this war."

Conway said the crisis cannot be solved overnight, and that "most of the great work is being done at the state and local levels." Conway called it a "nonpartisan issue in search of bipartisan support and bipartisan solutions."

Even before Trump's event, the Democratic National Committee slammed him, with spokesman Daniel Wessel saying in a statement: "Trump promised he'd come to the aid of communities ravaged by the opioid epidemic, but so far he's done nothing for them."

Trump's initial federal budget called for a 2 percent increase in drug treatment programs and would provide funds to increase border security to stop the flow of drugs into the country.

Substance abuse treatment activists have criticized his proposed cuts to federal prevention and research programs as well as his calls to shrink Medicaid, which covers drug treatment for hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Officials from New Hampshire criticized Trump last week after a leaked transcript of a January conversation with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto showed Trump had called the New England state, hard-hit by the opioid epidemic, a "drug-infested den."

New Hampshire sued OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma LP on Tuesday, joining several state and local governments in accusing the drugmaker of engaging in deceptive marketing practices that helped fuel opioid addiction.

The lawsuit followed similar ones against Purdue and other drugmakers by Oklahoma, Mississippi, Ohio and Missouri and several cities and counties in California, Illinois, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee and New York.

Price said Trump's administration was taking no position on such suits.

Fast and Furious Scandal: New Details Emerge on How the U.S. Government Armed Mexican Drug Cartels

Fuck the Police Don't Just Say It, Do It! Here's How..

By Christopher R Rice UndergroundNewz

Afghanistan supply's about 90% of the worlds opium. We arrived in 2001. In the following nine years opium production has surged 700%. Recording all time record harvests beginning around 2010.

During the time opium production was being ramped up in Afghanistan, Mexico was retooling their ability to convert ever larger supply's of opium into increasingly potent heroin and developing new infrastructure to transport it.

During the decade or so all this was going on in Afghanistan and Mexico, scripts here in America for Oxycontin, Fentanyl, Hydrocodone and the like were wildly available to any person claiming chronic pain. Nothing was done to confirm the claims of pain, sorta like the stated income, liar loans that set up the housing collapse. Basically scripts were available to almost anyone for the asking.

That all ended one day in 2011.

Almost overnight The Oxycontin and Fentanyl was turned into useless plastic and millions of scripts across the country were shut down with the exception of those few in truly chronic pain.

Simultaneously and amazingly as if by magic, that very day every city in America suddenly had a fresh two ton supply of high quality vary affordable heroin. In fact the prices have never been lower and the quality never higher.

This problem is unlikely to go away anytime soon. There are as many opioid prescriptions written annually in the US as there are adults. With just 5% of the world’s population, the US consumes 80% of its opioids. And the impact goes beyond the health and wellness of the population.

They turned the greatest country in the world into a fuckin' zoo. Fuck da police.

At the start of the '60s over 80% of black households were two parent homes and it was also the early '60's when heroin started mysteriously flooding into black neighborhoods all across the nation. This was a time when blacks were routinely denied jobs or any way to support their families. In 1964 President Johnson and the Democrats declared "War on Poverty" suddenly plenty of cash and housing became available to poor families with children and it only had one rule (besides income). "No adult male (the father) is to live in the home of family receiving aid" This rule was vigorously enforced with random unannounced home inspections. They would go through your closets and drawers looking for any sign of a man (the father) living in the home. I know this, I lived it, I remember it, as if it were yesterday. This strange lady opening my drawers looking at my stuff and my mom freaking out if her boyfriend ever left something of his at the house. This went on for over a generation. Having more children was encouraged by having no limits on the number and increasing benefits for every additional child. Marriage for young women was discouraged by the simple fact you lose that safety net and it just became a way of life. Before all this the black family was a strong one, headed by men tempered by 300 years of slavery who demanded strict discipline and control.

Johnson and the Democrats managed to break the back of the black family in a generation. The results of blacks raised without a father being self-evident. They turned the greatest country in the world into a zoo. Fuck da police.

When I was growing up, I use to fight my brothers until I learned that's a tactic, called 'divide and conquer'. So then I fought the police until I learned that they are only pawns. Cops write tickets but politicians write the laws. So then I fought the government until I saw them taking orders from their campaign contributors, the corporations. So, now I fight CEOs, generals and robber barons. The corporate elite who bought the government and turned paradise into military waste.

We have given them every benefit of the doubt, every chance to reform, we can not in good conscience continue to wait and hope. The time is now, we must act. They won't listen until we make some noise. But, don't just say 'fuck da police', do it! I wrote CopsRCorrupt.com to help you do just that.

Prohibition KILLS

America is the largest drug market in the world. We're 5 percent of the world's population — we consume 25 percent of the world's illegal drugs. Mexico has the misfortune to share a 2,000 mile border with the largest drug market in the world. At the end of the day, they'll run out of products. It's the illegality that makes those territories so valuable. If you criminalize anything only criminals can sell it. If only criminals can sell it, there's no recourse to law, there's only recourse to violence. That's created the cartels. It's our simultaneous appetite for — and prohibition of — drugs that makes those border territories worth killing for.

On the effect legalizing marijuana (just in Washington and Colorado) has had on Mexican trafficking

Just two states that have legalized marijuana, do you know what's happened in Mexico? Forty percent of Mexican marijuana imports, they've been cut by 40 percent. In Durango and Sinaloa, where most of the marijuana is grown, they've almost stopped growing it now, because they can't compete with the American quality and the American market. I'm not making this up; you get this from Customs and from DEA, from the people who are trying to intercept it on the border and judge how much is coming through as a percentage of how much they seize, and what they're telling us is it's down 37 percent over the last two years. So by stopping fighting, just two states stopping fighting the war on that drug, it has been effective.

Recognize drug laws as the price-support program that they are. If this stuff was trading at its actual cost, without the illegality premium, there wouldn't be enough money in drugs to support the cartels. But don't take my word for it, just ask Al Capone. Notice gangsters don't sell liquor any more. And there are no more drive-bys by bootleggers.

Afghan heroin & the CIA
By Andrew G. Marshall

This report is about American and British involvement in the Afghan drug trade in opium, focusing on the history of such involvement, and the nature of the drug trade since the 2001 occupation of Afghanistan. Today, Afghanistan supplies “more than 90 per cent of the world’s illicit opium, from which heroin is made,”[1] so who’s profiting from the trade?

In 2002, former Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India wrote that, in regard to the failure to combat the rise in opium production, “this marked lack of success in the heroin front is due to the fact that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the USA, which encouraged these heroin barons during the Afghan war of the 1980s in order to spread heroin-addiction amongst the Soviet troops, is now using them in its search for bin Laden and other surviving leaders of the Al Qaeda.”[21]

The Hindu reported in 2008 that, “90 per cent of the heroin sold in Russia comes from Afghanistan,” and Putin was quoted as saying, “Unfortunately, they (NATO) are doing nothing to reduce the narcotic threat from Afghanistan even a tiny bit,” and that the coalition forces were “sitting back and watching caravans haul drugs across Afghanistan to the former Soviet Union and Europe.” The article then reported that, “according to unconfirmed reports the U.S. military transport aviation is used for the delivery of drugs from Afghanistan to the American airbases, Ganci in Kyrgyzstan and Incirlik in Turkey,” and that, “It has been reported earlier that the CIA is involved in Afghanistan’s opium production, or is at least protecting it.” One Russian journalist quoted anonymous Afghan officials as saying, “85 per cent of all drugs produced in southern and southeastern provinces are shipped abroad by U.S. aviation.”[22]

Who Profits from the Drug Trade? Wall Street and Big Banks

Michel Chossudovsky describes the heroin trade as a “hierarchy of prices,” with the drug’s street price, (what it is sold for in largely Western cities around the world), is 80 to 100 times the price paid to the farmers who cultivate it in Afghanistan.[25] The IMF reported that in the late 1990s, money laundering accounted for 2-5% of the world’s GDP, and that a large percentage of the 590 billion to 1.5 trillion dollars in annual money laundering is “directly linked to the trade in narcotics.” This lucrative trade in narcotics produces profits which are “laundered in the numerous offshore banking havens in Switzerland, Luxembourg, the British Channel Islands, the Cayman Islands and some 50 other locations around the globe.” These offshore havens “are controlled by major Western banks and financial institutions” which “have a vested interest in maintaining and sustaining the drug trade.”[26]

An example of the interest of Wall Street and London bankers in the international drug trade, we can look to Colombia and the FARC rebel group. In “1999, NYSE [New York Stock Exchange] Chairman Dick Grasso traveled to Colombia and met with the leader of the FARC rebels controlling the southern third of the country.” “Grasso had asked the Colombian rebels to invest their profits in Wall Street.”[27] The Associated Press reported that Grasso told the rebel leader to, “make peace and expect great economic benefits from global investors,” and invited the rebel leader to visit Wall Street.[28] To allow for drug investment in Western financial institutions, “major banks like Citigroup, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and JPMorgan Chase all offer private client services for the very wealthy with very few questions asked.”[29]

It is not surprising that opioid and opiate medication abuse is on the rise because people can easily get such drugs online without a prescription, not to mention the fact that heroin continues to flow into the country despite the War on Drugs.
